Well, while writing the last journal, I realized that maybe what the club needs is something to motivate it...y'know, an assignment. So, I've decided to do a mini contest. Yep, a mini contest.

I don't have any grand prizes, and we still have few members, but with what we got, this is what I came up with. For THIS contest, the winner's image will be displayed at the top of the club's page. As contests go on, maybe I'll think of a better prize, but for now, for our size, this'll have to do.

CONTEST?!

Yes, a contest. This is the topic: The Holidays!

Okay, it's lame and dumb, but we have to start somewhere. To be specific, the upcoming Thanksgiving, Christmas, Hannukah, Yule holidays. I know I've probably missed some others, but you get the idea. For anyone celebrating a holiday between now January 2nd, do a picture, poem, writing, or whatever of an alien in some way connected to the holiday. Maybe he's shooting [and cooking] the turkey with a raygun. Maybe he's hopping naked out of a Christmas present. Maybe he's lighting the Manorah with his finger, etc.

The contest begins today: November 21st of 2009 and will end December 23rd 2009. That gives you a whole month to pick the holiday between now and January 2nd, and present it to the club. The winner's submission will be posted where Gir is now.

Contest Requirements

1. You MUST be a member of In Luv With an Alien. If you're not and you want to join...send a note to to let us know.
2. You can submit up to 3 entries. That allows some creativity, but some boundaries
3. Try to keep it rated R or less.
4. The submission must involve an alien of some type [fanart/fanfics included] somehow connected to any holiday taking place between November 21st-January 2nd. This will allow not only Christian holidays, but Jewish and Pagan, and/or non-religion-related holidays such as New Years.
5. Please note me the address to your submission and make it clear that it IS a submission to the contest


What does the Winner Get?

The winner gets to have his or her submission posted at the top of the club as the main image until the next contest is announced. Winner also gets bragging rights and gets to mark the image in their gallery as a contest winner, YAY!

Winner also gets my undying gratitude for taking the time to enter...which I'll give to anyone who enters ^-^

Keep in mind that I will still take non-contest-related stuff as well. But, do take advantage of the contest by participating ^-^ We'd love to see something new and fresh and fun. So come along and JOIN THE FUN!

What is "In Luv With an Alien?"

A song by the Kelly Family! But, no, seriously, it's a club for people who have an interest in drawing or writing about aliens. It can be original artwork or writings involving countless alien races, including but not limited to: Greys, Reptilians, Nordics, even made up alien races.

We also allow fanart! Yep! Do you have artwork depicting the Irkens from "Invader Zim," the Space Mutants from "The Simpsons," a big fan of "Alf," or a Namek from "Dragonball Z?" How about pictures of Marvin Martian from "Looney Tunes?" They are welcome here too, as well as a multitude of other alien character fanfics and fanarts! Don't be afraid to show off anything "Out of this world" with us!

But, maybe you just want to appriciate everyone else. You can join and not submit...but it makes me sad T-T After all, the more people that submit work, the more there is to enjoy. However, we do not allow comments on the artwork submitted here. But, the club provides credit to the artist and links to the original image so that you can fave and comment there. We DO allow comments on the group itself. So, certainly feel free to discuss the submissions or to leave messages with the group and its members.

1. Find something you've done that qualifies
2. Send a note to with a link to the piece you are submitting. We will post it up.
3. Keep the rating in mind. No porn [despite my intriguing curiosity]. But, I do allow R-rated material.

What is Allowed?

1. Any artwork, writings, fanart, fanfiction, etc of aliens.
2. It doesn't have to be Greys. It can be any alien race of just about any fandom
3. I will take UFO art, but we are more interested in the pilots ^-^
4. Questions...feel free to ask any.
5. Enjoying the art displayed here. But comments are disabled. To favorite or comment on the piece, you must follow the link to the original image on the artist's account. After all, they deserve the luv.

Rules

1. No flaming. You may not agree to some of the fandom pairings or some of the artwork depictions, but all are welcome here. You'll just have to take some "bad" with the "good."
2. The artwork or writings must be YOURS.
